SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES:

Scientific interests of Sychev D.A. include pharmacogenetics, problems of adverse drug reactions, ensuring drug safety, as well as personalized pharmacotherapy of internal diseases using "omics" technologies and the fight against polypharmacy.

He is the author of more than 1,200 publications, of which over 330 have been published in international scientific journals indexed in leading databases. His Hirsch index is 41 according to the Russian Science Citation Index (more than 11,300 citations) y) and 15 according to Scopus (more than 1150 citations). In addition, he has 16 patents.

Key scientific works are devoted to the development and study of "omics" biomarkers - pharmacogenetic, pharmacoepigenomic and pharmacometabolomic, which allow personalizing the use of vital drugs in patients with a wide range of diseases (cardiovascular, mental, respiratory, gastrointestinal, tuberculosis, oncology), including situations of polypharmacy, in order to reduce the risk of side effects. These biomarkers make it possible to evaluate individual characteristics of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics at different levels - from the genome and mechanisms regulating gene expression to the quantitative determination of drugs and their metabolites in biological fluids.

Pharmacogenetic and pharmacogenomic biomarkers are considered "a priori", allowing to predict the effect and safety of drugs before their prescription, while pharmacoepigenomic and pharmacometabolomic are "posterior", reflecting current changes under the influence of therapy.

Under the leadership of D. A. Sychev, algorithms for personalizing therapy for a number of common and socially significant diseases were developed. He participated in the creation and clinical trials of the first domestic direct oral anticoagulant - factor Xa inhibitor tedixaban (dimolegin).

In addition, under his leadership, scientific projects are carried out financed by grants from the Russian Science Foundation, the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the President of the Russian Federation. He supervised and consulted 48 candidate (including 1 PhD) and 8 doctoral dissertations in pharmacology and clinical pharmacology.

Sychev D. A. is the author and editor of many educational and methodological materials: the textbook "Clinical Pharmacology" (2015, 2018), translated into Kazakh (2019), the National Guide to Clinical Pharmacology (2024), 15 teaching aids, 12 monographs, 12 educational programs and 5 interactive educational modules.

In 2020, he became the coordinator of the working group for the development of a professional standard for a clinical pharmacologist.
