D.A. Zateyshchikov is a graduate of the 2nd Moscow State Medical Institute named after N.I. Pirogov.
He completed his clinical residency and postgraduate studies in the specialty "cardiology" at the All-Union Cardiology Research Center (today it is called the Russian Scientific and Production Cardiology Complex).
After completing his postgraduate studies, he worked in the laboratory of clinical cardiology of the Russian Atherosclerosis Center at the Research Institute of Physicochemical Medicine, where he studied the anti-atherosclerotic effect of a number of drugs.

In 2017, he became the head of the department.
In 2013, he headed the newly created Vascular Center (primary vascular department) at City Clinical Hospital No. 51.
Scientific activity:
Under the supervision of Professor N.A. Gratsiansky, he defended his PhD thesis on the topic of "Fibrinolytic and anticoagulant blood systems in patients with different clinical variants of angina."
He defended his doctoral thesis on the topic of "Functional state of the endothelium (hemostasis, vascular tone, genetic features) in patients with coronary heart disease."
He is actively engaged in research work. A number of works by D.A. Zateyshchikov are devoted to the study of the physiological and genetic characteristics of the athlete's heart. Currently, he is the head of the scientific direction devoted to the study of the genetic aspects of atherosclerosis and arterial hypertension, is the head of thirteen successfully defended PhD theses and supervises the implementation of PhD and doctoral dissertations carried out on the basis of City Clinical Hospital No. 51 and City Hospital No. 17. He conducts research on drugs used in the treatment of acute heart failure, long-term management of patients after myocardial infarction, unstable angina, in patients with hypertension, atrial fibrillation, including within the framework of international multicenter studies. A number of studies conducted under the supervision of D.A. Zateyshchikov are devoted to the genetic aspects of the action of pharmaceuticals.

He is the chairman of the section of genetics of pharmacogenetics of cardiovascular diseases and a member of the presidium of the section of emergency cardiology of the Russian Society of Cardiology, a member of the European Society of Cardiology, the European Atherosclerotic Society, the American Heart Association.
