Vladimir Baturin

Vladimir Baturin graduated with honors from the Chita State Medical Institute, Faculty of Medicine. After completing his postgraduate studies, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Pharmacology, and in 1980 he defended his PhD thesis. Since 1984, he has been working at the Stavropol State Medical Academy. For the first time, on the initiative of Vladimir, hours were allocated for teaching clinical pharmacology in the hospital therapy section. Since 1986, for 9 years, Vladimir headed the course of clinical pharmacology at the Department of Pharmacology of SSMI. In 1993, V.A. Baturin defended his doctoral dissertation "Chronobiological aspects of the pharmacodynamics of antidepressants". From 1995 to 2009, Professor V.A. Baturin headed the Department of Clinical Pharmacology. Since 2010, he has headed the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, Allergology and Immunology with a course of additional professional education. Professor V.A. Baturin developed a cycle for retraining doctors in the specialty of physician - clinical pharmacologist. Since 1998, advanced training for doctors of clinical pharmacologists has been carried out. The Clinical Pharmacology Service of the Stavropol Territory, created and headed by V.A. Baturin, functions effectively and is well known in Russia. Vladimir is the chief freelance clinical pharmacologist of the Stavropol Territory.

Vladimir successfully combines academic work with scientific activity. V.A. Baturin heads a scientific school known for its original research in Russia and abroad. The main scientific areas of activity are: clinical chronopsychopharmacology; clinical pharmacology of antibacterial agents; pharmacoeconomics and pharmacoepidemiology; assessment of the variability of the pharmacological effect due to gender and ethnicity; applied pharmacokinetics.

V.A. Baturin is the author of more than 350 scientific papers, 7 monographs, 10 methodological recommendations for doctors. Vladimir is a co-author of 2 textbooks and 8 teaching aids on clinical pharmacology, a reference book of medicines of the Formulary Committee of Russia. Within the framework of the national project "Health", a teaching aid for doctors "Standard approaches to pharmacotherapy of infectious diseases of the respiratory and urinary tract" was published.

Under the supervision of V.A. Baturin, 41 dissertations were defended, including 7 doctoral dissertations. Currently, 18 applicants continue to work on their dissertations. V.A. Baturin is a member of the dissertation council of the Volgograd State Medical University.

Based on scientific developments under the supervision of Vladimir, "Standards of antibacterial therapy" were developed for health care institutions of the city and the region, the implementation of which made it possible to increase the effectiveness of therapy and significantly reduce the cost of treating patients.

V.A. Baturin regularly participates in regional, all-Russian and international conferences. Vladimir is a laureate of the Transbaikal Komsomol Prize, was awarded a certificate of the Minister of Health of the Stavropol Territory, a letter of gratitude from the head of the city of Stavropol, and is an honorary professor of the Stavropol State University.

In October 2013, he was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the President of the Russian Federation.

In 2003, the American Biographical Institute included Vladimir in the list of "500 leaders of science".

Professor V.A. Baturin is the chairman of the regional branch of the Interregional Public Organization of Pharmacoeconomic Research, a member of the Formulary Committee of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, a member of the Problem Commission on Clinical Pharmacology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

V.A. Baturin is a member of the editorial board of the journals: "The Problem of Standardization in Healthcare" (Moscow); co-editor of the journal "Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacoeconomics" (Moscow); Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the journal "Medical Bulletin of the North Caucasus" (Stavropol).

In 2000, V.A. Baturin organized the "Center for Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy", which is a scientific clinical and laboratory base of the Stavropol State Medical University. With the participation of Vladimir, original, highly effective methods for diagnosing infectious agents were developed and introduced into practice. Under the leadership of V.A. Baturin, a unique method for diagnosing drug allergies was developed and introduced into practice.

Vladimir is the author of 6 patents for invention. For participation in the "International Salon", V.A. Baturin received a letter of gratitude from the Ministry of Economy of the Stavropol Territory.

From 1996 to 2009, V.A. Baturin successfully combined the head of the department with the head of the dean's office of the medical faculty. From 2009 to 2012. Vladimir held the position of First Vice-Rector of StSMA.
